Ledgerstones: A Workshop


7th October 2017, 10.30am – 4pm


The Stained Glass Centre will be the venue for a ledgerstone study day: learn how to record ledgerstones for the Ledgerstone Survey of England and Wales (LSEW). The LSEW and the Churches Conservation Trust will be delivering this study day at the Stained Glass Centre, and if you would like to book a place simply fill out this form and send it with a £5 cheque to:

This summer the Stained Glass Centre will be open on the following days:

Saturday 19 August

Come and look at our beautiful building and its incredible stained glass, and meet some of our volunteers! We’ll be open from 11am-3pm.

Walking Tours Around the City of York, June 2017

The York Civic Trust is having a ‘Get to know your York” weekend of free city walks on Friday 23rd  and Saturday 24th June. The weekend will enhance your appreciation of the great city of York, and will be a thoroughly enjoyable and sociable event, based in a Civic Trust marquee in St. Sampson’s Square. There will be the added opportunity to view new activity displays and chat with people in the Civic Trust who are having a growing positive influence on York’s future plans. Residents’ Festival 2017!

Sunday 29th January, 11am – 3pm

Join us on Sunday the 29th as we open the doors for York Residents’ Festival 2017! We’ll be open from 11am to 3pm for the following:

  • Painting and glazing demonstrations
  • Have a go at glass painting yourself!
  • Children’s activities
  • Book sale and refreshments

We’re looking forward to opening our doors and inviting you in to visit!

Autumn lecture: Thursday 13th October 2016

‘I know my geese are not all swans – The WA Ismay Collection of Studio Pottery’, by Helen Walsh, Curator of Ceramics, York Museums Trust

On 13th October we’ll be having our Autumn Lecture. Tickets are sold on the door for £6 (£5 concessions) and include refreshments, available from 7 pm (lecture starts at 7.30). Entry is free to Friends of the Stained Glass Centre. Hope to see you there!
